Heading East.<br \/>\nIt gains velocity at a rate of<br \/>\n2 mph until it hits top speed:<br \/>\nwhatever the engineer feels<br \/>\nwill not tear the cars apart.<\/p>\n<p>Train Y leaves<br \/>\na different station<br \/>\n12 PM. Track 2. Heading West.<br \/>\nIts passengers sleep,<br \/>\nheads smudging windows.<\/p>\n<p>Rain happens.<\/p>\n<p>At what point will<br \/>\neach train<br \/>\nhit the milk truck that has stalled<br \/>\nacross the tracks at<br \/>\nBay Point Junction?<\/p>\n<p>Answer:<br \/>\nThe trucker calls the police.<br \/>\nVoicemail picks up.<br \/>\nThe police parole and partake<br \/>\nin the parade. Today is Bay Point Day.<br \/>\nNo rain has fallen on the marchers,<br \/>\nso the first train is probably<br \/>\ncloser than the second.<br \/>\nHowever, the wind has swept in,<br \/>\nso the sleepy second train<br \/>\nspeeds up.<br \/>\nThat will have the greatest impact.<\/p>\n<p><em>Christina M. She teaches English at Nassau Community College where she also serves as Editor for <\/em>The Nassau Review<em> and Coordinator for the Creative Writing Project.
